Spring is in the air………
Capture the sensuality and vitality of spring flowers in easy steps.
A limited colour palette of warm and cool transparent colours will be our starting point for finding just that perfect colour match.
Using wet and dry watercolour painting techniques we will learn how to blend and layer colour to gradually reveal the vitality of spring flowers.
We will practice some simple colour mixing and matching and both wet and dry painting techniques to help us accurately depict the rich array of colours in the petals of spring flowers (tulips, polyanthus, freesia)
Day 1 – Getting to know your subject….
Choosing, Lighting, Observing, Drawing and Composition
Day 2.- Colour -mixing and matching
Laying washes of colour.
Mixing greens, Painting shadows
Day 3 – Practicing wet watercolour painting techniques.
Layering washes for impact.
Painting the wonderful rich colours and textures of flower petals.
Day 4 – Troubleshooting your painting
The Wow Factor …..!
Finishing with finer details using dry brush techniques.
